Request for Proposals Issued for Thresholds Program
Rhode Island Housing is accepting applications for Thresholds funding, to be used to develop homes for people with serious and persistent mental illness, and developmental disabilities.
Non-profit housing sponsors actively engaged in the provision of housing or services to low-income people with the ability to provide mental health and supportive services to this population may apply. Applications for Thresholds funds are considered on a rolling basis and are evaluated by an Advisory Committee, with recommendations made to the Rhode Island Housing’s Board of Commissioners and submitted for final approval to Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH).
The Thresholds Program consists of two components: Capital Development Funding and Predevelopment Loans. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to acquisition, rehabilitation, and new construction of housing units for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, and developmental disabilities.
Funds totaling $561,863.79 are now available for allocation. Applications are due no later than October 1, 2010 at 5:00pm.
